Funding Has Been Approved!

Got the most important call today! Funding was approved by Alternatives Federal Credit Union, and for $2,000 more than requested!

Today was spent painting and enjoying the company of my friend John, and catching up on 10 years or so. With his help the top 3/4 of the dining area is painted, and tomorrow is reserved for the bottom half and trim.

My mother had a great suggestion for the lighting- to paste colored tissue paper on the stained beyond repair frosted glass. I tried the technique and it looks amazing!!!

Photos to come soon!

Goals, set them!

The goal is to open for a trial run on Sat, July 18th. I do realize that is Grassroots weekend, and that will surely effect business. This will be like a 'primer' opening, so I feel like that it is a good idea. That way any problems can be discovered, and the opening ceremonies will be held on the following weekend.
No loan yet, but I have purchased many items already, and am making steady progress. Tuesday I will demand an answer or else give up on funding through the city. It is a better deal than a bank loan, but they are very slow to respond! Very, very slow. Can't take it much longer!
On that note, I feel the nesting urge, and feel metaphorically pregnant with a restaurant. I guess that makes the loan officers midwives! I have the urge to do as much as possible now, since I will be so busy with a life changing and very consuming new role. Does this qualify as my first planned pregnancy? (note: I am only metaphorically pregnant!)
Painting WILL happen this week, and i will post some photos then
Thanks so much for all of the continued support, what a wonderful place to live!

Lighting

This evening I disassembled some broken light fixtures, saving the un-broken. They were in groups of three, still dirty (cleaning them will have to wait for another day), but salvageable. I like them and also the fact that they are salvaged, and I especially like the fact that they were free! Thank you Suzy! Just a little work, some glass fragments in the hands and I have some nice lighting. Good thing, the fluorescent rectangles presently in the space are not dining area appropriate!
Paint is bought and in the car, ready to warm up the white walls. Just have to reserve some time and baby sitting. Hopefully this week.
